Spain is among the countries with the highest life expectancy rate in the world. This fact, together with the low and stagnant birth rate, makes it one of the oldest. In this context, the study of the well-being of the elderly takes on special importance. This paper offers a review of the literature on studies that have focused on the analysis of subjective well-being of the elderly, paying special attention to the case of Spain. In particular, we focuse on those analysis of the dimensions of subjective well-being. After the research, it is prooven that there are few studies that focus on the old adult and their subjective well-being, especially those related to income or economic situation of the household. This lack raises important problems when implementing social policies that favor the protection of this vulnerable group.
